Chelsea Matchday Museum Review: Full Hospitality Experience Guide

Getting tickets to a Chelsea FC match, especially a London derby, isn’t something you want to leave to chance. Between membership requirements, limited availability, and the uncertainty of general sale tickets, it can be difficult to build a trip around a match without guaranteed access. That’s what led us to hospitality tickets for Chelsea vs Tottenham at Stamford Bridge.

We booked the Matchday Museum package through an official reseller, locking in tickets months ahead of the trip for our family of four. Total cost came to £1,540, with all seats together, something that isn’t always guaranteed through standard ticket routes. For international travel, that level of certainty makes a big difference.

Here is our experience with booking these tickets through Club Sports & Events, and what you can expect with this hospitality ticket package.

Match Details

We booked our ticket through an official reseller listed on the Chelsea website and received our tickets via email a few days before the match.

Here are the details for the tickets:

  • Fixture: Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur

  • Date: April 3, Kickoff at 8:00 PM

  • Hospitality Package: Matchday Museum

  • Entrance: Westview Gates

  • Seats: Section Westview North (Level 5), Row 19, Seats 153–156

Pre-Match Experience

This is where Chelsea separates itself, and where the Matchday Museum package really shines. The experience is structured, but in a way that feels natural.

Doors open five hours before kickoff, and that timing matters. If you arrive early enough, you get access to the behind-the-scenes mini tour, including the tunnel and pitchside areas. We made sure to get there early and that ended up being one of the best decisions of the day.

The flow of the day looked like this:

  • Arrival (5 hours before kickoff): Take pictures, check into the Museum and get a ticket for access to the mini tour of the stadium

  • Early experience: Tunnel and pitchside access (limited to early arrivals)

  • Pre-match (3-4 hours before kickoff): Return to the museum for food and drinks, setup throughout the Museum

  • Before kickoff (1-2 hours): Check out the Chelsea store and transition to seats to watch warmups

What stands out is how intentional the pacing is. You’re not rushing between things. You’re moving through a curated experience that builds toward kickoff.

What the Matchday Museum Package Includes

Chelsea’s hospitality here is closer to a full event than a simple ticket upgrade.

From the official itinerary, the package included:

  • Luxury padded seats in the West Stand upper tier

  • Access to the Chelsea Museum

  • Pre-match behind-the-scenes mini tour (tunnel and pitchside access)

  • Interactive chef’s table dining

  • Complimentary beer, wine, and soft drinks

  • Drink vouchers for halftime

  • Official match programme

  • Exclusive Chelsea gift (pen and gift bag)

  • Appearance from a Chelsea legend

Seating and Match Atmosphere

Our seats in Westview North, Level 5 (Row 19) offered a great overall perspective of the pitch. You’re high enough to see the full match, but still close enough to stay connected to the energy. Even in hospitality seating, the atmosphere comes through.

This was a London derby, and you could feel that intensity building throughout the stadium. Different hospitality packages offer varying seat locations throughout the West Stand and for the price we paid I thought the seats were good.

Food and Hospitality Experience

Food is a major part of this experience and it’s handled well.

Instead of a quick pre-match meal, you get:

  • Light snacks on arrival

  • Pre-match dining experience with food and drink stations setup throughout the museum, as well as seating in different areas

  • Additional drink vouchers for halftime

The chef’s table setup makes it feel more like an event than stadium food. For our family, this pacing worked extremely well, as we weren’t trying to time meals or grab seats, we just moved through the experience, found seats when we needed to and enjoyed all of the museum exhibits and pre-match entertainment (interactive games, magician, and videos of Chelsea highlights over the years).

Important Things to Know (Before You Go)

There are a few details worth knowing ahead of time from the official itinerary:

  • You need to arrive early to access the tunnel experience (within the first hour)

  • The stadium is cashless, so plan accordingly

  • Bags larger than A4 size are not permitted

  • Once the match starts, there is no return to the museum

These are small details, but they can make a difference in how smooth your day goes.

Overall Impression

If you’re looking for a Premier League experience that goes beyond the match itself, the Matchday Museum package at Stamford Bridge is one of the best options available. Seeing the history and trophy cabinet of the club was a great experience for the kids and Stamford Bridge is a nice stadium to check out as well. For the price we paid, I thought it is a good value, not only for the tickets to the game, but the overall experience with food and drinks, museum access, stadium tour and all of the other inclusions.
