Review: Hyatt Residence Club Lake Tahoe

Overview:
The Hyatt High Sierra Lodge is located on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe in Incline Village, Nevada.

The property is a part of the Hyatt Residence Club and features suites comprised of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, fireplace, living room, dining room and a washer/dryer.  It is also a part of the overall Hyatt Lake Tahoe footprint and features shared amenities with the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe hotel next door.

I previously wrote about the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe hotel, which you can read about here.  The hotel features great restaurants, fitness center, pool area and also has a private beach/lake access for guests.

If you've been to the hotel and never noticed the Hyatt High Sierra Lodge, that is likely due to it being tucked away behind the hotel.  It is a great location to consider staying at for families or larger groups who are looking for larger accommodations for their next Lake Tahoe getaway.

Property Map:
There are six buildings on the property, with each building being comprised of ten 2-bedroom suites/units.  There is also a check-in lobby with information on area activities and a clubhouse featuring a pool, spa, firepit, bbq grills and a pool table.

Overview of the Mountain Suites:
Each unit on the property is a 2 Bedroom Suite featuring 1 king bed in the master suite with master bath, 2 double beds in the guest suite with full bath, living room with pullout couch, full kitchen, dining area, gas fireplace, washer/dryer and a private balcony.

If you're planning on staying an entire week, mid-week maid service is included and daily service can be arranged for a fee. Parking is also available free of charge.

An example of the floorplan is shown below.  Units on the top floor feature vaulted ceilings, giving the illusion of the entire space feeling larger than the first floor and second floor units.

Living room and dining room feature rustic mountain lodge decor and a TV, gas fireplace, and a pullout sofa sleeper:

The kitchen features everything you'll need to cook up meals and all of the dishes, pots, pans and silverware as well.

The Master Suite features a king bed, TV and remodeled bathroom:

The guest bedroom features two full size beds, TV and a bathroom:

The washer/dryer combo is perfect for getting everything clean after a day out in the snow:

On-Site Amenities at Hyatt High Sierra Lodge:
Some of the on-site amenities available at the Hyatt High Sierra Lodge include a guest clubhouse featuring pool tables, a pool, spa, firepit and bbq grills.

You can pickup a smores kit from the hotel at Tahoe Provisions or grab a smaller kit from the High Sierra Lodge lobby.

Shared Property Amenities:
As mentioned previously, the Hyatt High Sierra Lodge is a part of the overall Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe hotel footprint and shares amenities that guests staying at the High Sierra Lodge can enjoy such as:
  • Hotel Pool Area
  • Fitness Center
  • Firepits (one on the beach and one near the pool area)
  • Hyatt Private Beach/Lake Access
  • Grand Lodge Casino
  • Sports/Activities Shop
    • You can rent ski and snowboard equipment, sleds, and buy other gear here if necessary.
    • The sports shop at the Hyatt is affiliated with Diamond Peak Ski Resort meaning you can buy lift tickets and rent equipment here instead of at the ski resort, saving you valuable time there.  There is also a shuttle from the Hyatt to Diamond Peak, which is only a short 10-15 minute drive away.
  • Hotel Restaurants:
    • Lone Eagle Grille
    • Sierra Cafe
    • Cutthroat Saloon
    • Tahoe Provisions
    • If you visit during the holidays, the hotel is decorated nicely and features an additional dining option, an alpine eatery, featuring different food stations.

You can read more about these amenities, restaurants as well as other area activities by reading my previous review on the Hyatt Lake Tahoe hotel by clicking here.

Summary:
The Hyatt High Sierra Lodge is a top-notch resort and we enjoyed our time here.  I plan on detailing the Hyatt Residence Club Program in a future post and discussing options on how you can save money and take advantage of vacation rentals like this.
