Hotel Review: The Luxurious Carneros Resort & Spa located in Napa Valley
Surrounded by rolling vineyards in a picturesque countryside setting, Carneros Resort and Spa offers a private retreat that delivers a relaxed and luxurious quintessential Napa experience.
Resort Overview
Carneros Resort and Spa is surrounded by 28 acres of grapevines, fruit trees and picturesque farmland and located a few miles southwest of Napa, California at what I like to refer to as the gateway to both Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley Wine Country. From here you can explore the valleys’ superb vineyards, eateries, and wine tasting rooms. In terms of location, the resort is a five minute drive to downtown Napa and a short 15 minute drive to downtown Sonoma Plaza.

Carneros Resort just completed a recent renovation to its cottages and suites and as part of the resort's makeover, was rebranded from Carneros Inn to Carneros Resort and Spa. The new name, Carneros Resort and Spa, was inspired by the word “carneros”, Spanish for rams, and is said to refer back to the earlier use of the area as grazing land for sheep. This historical connotation is featured by incorporating a ram’s head in the updated logo.
The lobby was also updated and is stunning with a luxury farmhouse chic vibe to it and is a perfect way to greet arriving guests.
The rooms here are individual cottages set up in small neighborhoods and feature amenities including fireplaces, indoor-outdoor showers, individual hot tubs and expansive French doors leading to landscaped gardens and personal fire pits.

Accommodations here are more than traditional guestrooms - they are individual free-standing cottages that result in a true residential feel. Each cottage features a private front porch and a . Bedding options include one king or two double beds and the Harvest upgrade features an outdoor soaking tub.

Carneros Resort is home to three restaurants including FARM, Boon Fly Cafe and Hilltop Dining Room.- FARM is fine dining at its best, and the restaurant features produce from the Resort’s culinary garden and orchards.
- Boon Fly Cafe is more of a casual experience and a a popular roadside eatery featuring modern rustic cuisine.
- Hilltop Dining Room is a guest exclusive only restaurant featuring farm to table dining at its finest featuring local ingredients, regional wines and handcrafted cocktails.
