A travel consortium refers to an organization made up of independent travel agents and agencies that have joined together to increase their buying power, commissions, and amenities they are able to provide clients. Virtuoso is also well known for hosting the most show-stopping week in travel, known as Virtuoso Travel Week. Virtuoso Travel Week is an annual event held in Las Vegas that draws thousands of Virtuoso members and suppliers, such as cruise lines, hotels, and tour operators.
The week long event is all about making connections, learning about the latest travel trends and mixing and mingling. It brings advisors together with suppliers in a "speed dating" format of four-minute meetings and ten-minute meetings.
There are also professional development courses, special parties and a opening gala you'd think was for the Academy Awards! It's a high energy and super-efficient way for members to discover the latest product offerings in the tourism and travel world.
In turn, these travel advisors, are able use the information and connections they've made to help clients plan their travel.
